I keep getting locked out of my network account or email

Description: If you keep getting locked out of your account after changing your password or having your password reset. Please follow the instructions below.

Reboot your PC

  • Sometimes after having your password changed, it can causes issues with your account on the computer. Rebooting can help solve these issues.
  1. Save and Close any Documents or Programs
  2. Click Start
  3. Click the Arrow next to Shut Down
  4. Click Restart

Change Password on your Iphone E-Mail

  • You will need to change the password on your iDevices
  1. Tap Settings
  2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars in the left pane
  3. Tap Exchange in the right pane
  4. Tap Account Username@butlercc.edu
  5. Delete old password
  6. Type in your new password
  7. Tap Done
  8. Tap Done again

Change Password on Droid Phone E-mail

  • You will need to change your password on your Droid Phone
  1. Tap Accounts
  2. Tap username@butlercc.edu
  3. Tap your account again
  4. Scroll to the bottom and locate incoming settings
  5. Tap to Incoming Settings
  6. Change your password
  7. Tap Done

Change Password on your Ipad E-Mail

  • You will need to change the password on your iDevices
  1. Tap Settings
  2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars in the left pane
  3. Tap Exchange in the right pane
  4. Tap Account Username@butlercc.edu
  5. Delete old password
  6. Type in your new password
  7. Tap Done
  8. Tap Done again

Change Password on Jabber for Windows

  • Jabber uses the same password as your computer log on password
  1. Open Jabber
  2. If you are logged in, Log out
  3. Type in your new password
  4. Click Sign in

Change Password on Jabber for Ipad

  • Jabber uses the same password as your computer log on password
  1. Open Jabber
  2. Click the sprocket in the upper right hand corner
  3. Select Sign Out
  4. Enter your new password
  5. Click Sign in

Change Password on Jabber for Iphone

  • Jabber uses the same password as your computer log on password
  1. Open Jabber
  2. Click the sprocket in the upper right hand corner
  3. Select Sign Out
  4. Enter your new password
  5. Click Sign in

Clear Internet Explorer Passwords

  • Internet Explorer can Save your passwords. Please follow the steps below to clear passwords
  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Click the Sprokect in the upper right hand corner
  3. Click Internet Options
  4. Click Delete under Browsing history
  5. Place a checkbox in Passwords
  6. Click Delete
  7. Click OK
  8. Close your Browser

Clear Firefox Passwords

  1. start Firefox and click the Firefox button in the upper left.
  2. Scroll to history> clear recent history. (Ctrl+Shift+Del)
  3. Change time range to "Everything" and check "Site Preferences"
  4. Click clear now and restart Firefox.

Clear Chrome Passwords

  • Chrome will save your passwords. Please follow the steps below to clear passwords
  1. Open Chrome on the computer that you access OWA from (Exchange.butlercc.edu)
  2. Click on the triple lines in the upper right hand corner beneath the X
  3. Click History

  4. Click Clear browsing data in the upper left hand corner
  5. Change "Obliterate the following items from: the past hour" to the beginning of time
  6. Place a check box in Clear save Passwords
  7. Clear Browsing data

  8. Close your browser
