Password Registration and Reset
The self service password reset is done using your current password to register and fill out security questions and from that point forward you can go to another website and as long as you know your username and the answers to at least two for your security questions you can reset or unlock either account.

My account is "locked" what do I do?
If your account is locked you can perform the below password reset and it will unlock your account.
Password expiration email
You will receive an email periodically starting two weeks before you password expires. this email contains a link to reset your password.
Initial Password
Your initial password is: your Butler ID numberBcc!
EXAMPLE
If your Butler ID number is :@00000000
Your Initial Password is: @00000000Bcc!
Usernames
Different systems require different usernames to access Butler resources to access Canvas or Butler student email your login is username@butlercc.edu. Accessing a computer on campus or pipeline your login is only your username.
Registering Your Password
Using Chrome
- Open Chrome.
- Navigate to http://www.butlercc.edu
- Hover over "Login" and select "Password Assistance"
- Select "Password Registration"
- The link should ask you for your Username and Password
- Enter your Username and Password in the fields and select Log In.
- Select Next.
- Re-enter your password
- Answer a minimum of 3 security with answers that you will remember.
- Answers must be more than 4 characters long and are case sensitive.
- After answering 3 of the questions select next
Once you get to the above screen with a green check mark you have successfully registered for password reset.
If this is your first time registering you will now need to reset your password.
Using Firefox
- Open Firefox.
- Navigate to http://www.butlercc.edu
- Hover over "Login" and select "Password Assistance"
- Select "Password Registration"
- The link should ask you for your Username and Password
- Enter your Username and Password in the fields and select Log In.
- Select Next.
- Re-enter your password
- Answer a minimum of 3 security with answers that you will remember.
- Answers must be more than 4 characters long and are case sensitive.
- After answering 3 of the questions select next
Once you get to the above screen with a green check mark you have successfully registered for password reset.
If this is your first time registering you will now need to reset your password.
Using Internet Explorer
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Navigate to http://www.butlercc.edu
- Hover over "Login" and select "Password Assistance"
- Select "Password Registration"
- A box will appear asking for your Username and password.
- The username in this case is your email address (username@butlercc.edu).
- Select Next.
- Re-enter your password
- Answer a minimum of 3 security with answers that you will remember.
- Answers must be more than 4 characters long and are case sensitive.
- After answering 3 of the questions select next
Once you get to the above screen with a green check mark you have successfully registered for password reset

Resetting Your Password
Using Chrome

- Enter your Username and select next.
- Answer two of the three security questions with the same answers used during registration.
- Select Next.
- Enter a new password of your choice in both boxes and select Next.
- Passwords must contain three of the following: a capital letter, a lowercase letter, a number, and a special character (!,@,$,#,-,+, etc).
Once you get to the above screen with a green check mark you have successfully reset your password.
You may now login to all campus resources using your new password.
